Create a class inherit from object

  • In Python 2.x classes had to inherit from object in order to become 'new style' classes.
class Person(object):
    pass

if __name__ == '__main__':
    p = Person()
    print(p)
    print(type(p))
    print(p.__class__.__name__)

    members = dir(p)
    print(members)

<__main__.Person object at 0x7f9e7fce81c0>
<class '__main__.Person'>
Person
